唐建荣教授现任美国贝勒医学院得克萨斯州儿童医院邓肯神经病学研究所“神经生理学中心实验室”主任、美国国立卫生研究所智力与发育研究中心所属贝勒医学院 “神经联系中心实验室”主任。唐建荣实验室主要研究神经发育性神经疾病(如Rett syndrome, Angelman syndrome等)认知障碍、运动功能异常等方面的神经机制及功能恢复。新近在Rett Syndrome的小鼠模型上发现,定位深部脑刺激通过调节大脑海马结构的神经再生和突触可塑性,可恢复模式动物的学习与记忆功能。在转基因动物的行为学、电生理学及药理学分析方面具有开创性的技术和经验,所涉领域包括认知神经科学、行为生物学、神经病学等。近5年,实验室在《Nature》、《Neuron》、《Journal of Neuroscience》、eLIFE等学术刊物上发表论文30余篇。论文被美国神经科学学会评选为2017年最重要的3篇论文之一。
